Found a nice "little" program that will permanently disable the windows 10 update nag. Less then 1 meg, and from everything I have been able to find out, it is completely safe.
Installed it on both of my win7 machines.
Never10
I like it better then windows 8, but still prefer windows 7.
This is for people who dont want to upgrade. Microsoft is increasingly trying to update everyone. I have heard rumors of systems being updated without permission or at least without confirmation of it happening.
Well just so you know and I do not know how true this is, but I have heard that Microsoft intends to stop supporting 7 in the next year or so. If I remember correctly this came through work where I am by default of knowledge the department's IT guy. While talking to the company we have been using to upgrade computers, my contact mentioned this.
So part of what I am doing is upgrading all of the department computers I can now since 10 is free at the moment. We had to spend a lot of money and possibly could have been more because our previous chief loved xp. That might be something you want to ponder.I am very picky about how well software functions and I am exclusively using 10 now. I have to say 10 is the best of 7 and 8 without a lot of the issues with those two. The one big thing I don't like about 10 is how it updates but otherwise I have had very little issues with it.
windows 7 is good until 2020 according to microsofts website
here and alot of people will still be using it that use windows media center for there home dvr due to it was not included in windows 10.
this also works for disabling the upgrade prompt its how i did it at work on the domain but you can do it to by opening up the group policy editor by opening up a command prompt and then typing gpedit
Policy path: Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Windows Update Policy
Setting: Turn off the upgrade to the latest version of Windows through Windows Update
