Q: What do you get when you cross a busy intersection, truck with loud lads and a bicycle, with a lamppost?
A: A broken collar bone
I broke my collar bone and can't use my arm ;-(
So, I will be trying to stay in touch with you all via my other arm and the forums.
All the best everyone and I look forward to being on the battlefield again soonish - could be at least four weeks I'm told.
Fire off some extra rounds for me in the meantime

Yes, Vancouver drivers are great at nailing cyclists.

That is painful. Having the use of one arm makes everything awkward...see ya in a month.

I can totally feel your pain! I crashed on my Mtn. bike a little over a month ago. Hit really hard and at just the correct angle to overload the clavicle and have it shatter into a bunch of pieces in the center.
I ended up having to have surgery to put all the pieces back. That was both bad and good. Bad, cause of the surgery, 12 screws, 2 metal plates, and some wire. Good, cause the recovery time was much shorter than if it was a clean break and I wouldn't have had surgery. So, within one week of the surgery, I was able to get rid of the sling.
But this is the trade-off:
