Has anyone figured out how to connect to BO whenever it starts being wonky? I can connect to any server but our own. Looking at the console it seems like whenever I try to connect everything goes well except for the part where my game resolves the server's IP.

I think it's the servers' that is at fault, but there are a couple things to try: Flush your DNS but hitting Win+R, and type in "cmd", hit Enter, ad in the DOS-like window that pops up, type in "ipconfig /flushdns". You could also try getting a different IP from your ISP. IF your router lets you use a custom MAC address,, just change it, then powercycle (reboot and/or unplug/plug in your modem and router. If you are unable, call your ISP and get them to give you a new IP.
This has been happening to a few people, and I've heard of the same problem from other people; being able to connect to everyone elses' server but their own.
During todays' meeting, Luke mentioned that he will be 'resetting' the BO server, and they did for World at War this week. Hopefully this will fix it.
In the meantime - CiD, RBN, ATOP, VPG, and XII all run great crouch servers, though the minutia of their perspective rules are a bit different. Do you have W@W? If not, I do believe Franklin listed it in the games he's getting rid of...

Already tried all the DNS/ IP stuff but thanks for the recommendation. I guess I will have to wait for the server reset.

Just an update, after I completely re installed not only the multiplayer but the singleplayer portion of BO as well I was able to reconnect to the server. It is a pretty significant amount to have to download, but at least its working again.

Good to hear
It isn't working again
Even after a full reinstall it isn't working so I guess its something where the server needs to be reset in order to fix it.

I submitted a ticket for the server to see if its on there end
If they cant help, we may have to do a clean install and wipe which usually fixing everything
I appreciate you doing that bud. I'll keep everything updated if I have any changes. Has the server been reset recently? If not maybe during a quiet moment tonight it should be.
EDIT:Just did a clean reinstall again and I still cannot connect so it probably is server side.

Bring up a command prompt (win 7 type in "command prompt" in the start/search and it should appear) and type in tracert <space>"ip address" . replace "ip address" with the ip . It should tell you where packets are being dropped/lost.

I'm having the same problem. Was playing Black Ops on Friday, logged out to change my shotgun and could not log back in.

I believe Chopper is still having that issue, I often see him on late at night, so I'll pass it on.
I was wondering if you were still alive, Johnny - I haven't seen ya on TS for almost a week.
