I need help here guys.
The mic on my g430 headset auto mutes. I've reinstalled all drivers, removed nvidia sound, scanned with malware-bytes, scanned with windows essentials, restored system to previous point, nothing! When I unmute the mic it may mute in 5 secs or not for 20 mins, no pattern at all.
I'm using on board sound Asus z87 mobo with realtek audio manager. running win7 home prem.
I've been working on this since Wednesday night.
HELP!

Update,
I uninstalled realtek Audio Manager and now have different problem. Now the slider for mic in "control panel/Sounds" automatically slides to zero. Looks like a Microsoft problem.

New update,
I opened my Task Manager and found 3 processes running that were never there before, "regserv.exe". I did a Google search and found it should be from Microsoft but sometimes a Trojan is hidden. Did another scan and stopped the process in Task Manager...mic has been fine for about 4 hours.
The curious part is every time I have an issue is after a win7 update.
I downloaded win10 on a flash drive and thinking of doing a clean install of win10.
Should I install win10?

Almost forgot, each time I had problems with my headset my settings for screen saver and display off would not work also.

I have had Windows 10 for a bit now and have no complaints about it. All the good from windows 7 with a dash of windows 8. I did do an edit to it that makes it where it tells me when there are updates instead of just installing them. Wasn't hard to do i just googled it.

Hey Firecrackr1, I'm having the same issue for about 3 weeks now. Changed headsets, installed new drivers, changed settings and it still mute itself. Haven't tried you task manager idea yet. Thanks for the update.

I updated to Windows 10 shortly after it was available. I for the most part have not had an issue with it and it has all the best of 7 and 8. So I would say go for it. Just check to make sure your board has 10 drivers.
