All servers are dedicated, that is the ploy they used on BOP's III. They were dedicated but not rentable & that is the detail I am looking for. They already said they would have the official Dice servers like they do in BF4.
These are the servers I read that were going to be rentable & they would be maintained by Dice with no admin. controls. They also would be more expensive than client base servers we rent from.
I loved the UI & gameplay better than BF4 & just hoping they have more details soon on who the client is, Dice or other clients.

In any case, I have pre-ordered the game and played the beta and I really like it. I'm all in. I'm a one game at a time kinda guy and I will be retiring the BF4 to focus on BF1.

This is from back in May when they were talking about matchmaking vs server browser for the PC. This has nothing about rentable servers and is only discussing the fact that there is going to be a server browser with dedicated servers. Those dedicated servers...currently...are official EA/DICE servers with no admin controls. So, we need to find out if we will be able to rent and admin our own servers. If not, then we cannot maintain the BK way for BF1.

Scubi and I are also going to buy BF1 with or without rent able servers.
A few of us were talking on Ts the other night and Karow brought up a good point, rentable servers are on their way out. The developers don't want to support anti-cheat programs, saves them money. No admin servers means they don't get emails from players who were kicked or banned for whatever reason.
At this point in time, assuming no rent servers, the best we can do is find a public server with a decent ping for most members and simply "join friend".
I hope I'm wrong, we'll see soon.

I'm with the others that are all in either way. Like Mister D, I will be dropping my BF4 and focusing purely on BF1. Already bought it before the beta and am really looking forward to the launch. My new job really has cut my gaming time down but I'm still excited for the launch.
