If your game crashes with a Directx error code here are some things you can do to fix it. There are lot of suggestions online and some work for some people and some work for others and for some none of them work. These are examples for Nvidia gfx card users. I don’t know if it works on AMD gut you can try.  Before all in the NVIDIA control panel under 3D settings set the COD.exe to use your discrete gfx card if you have an on board one too.

Fix 1. Downgrade gfx driver to an older version   ( https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/)

I downgraded the driver to a whole number lover version for example current version is 566.36 so I went down to 565.xx.
After that when I started the game, I got the message that the 566.03 is minimum to play the game even though the game run just fine. I later installed 566.03

I did this step last because I was trying out other solutions first but after this my game stopped crashing so try it first.

Fix2. Game graphics settings

All option below can be found in the settings quickly by selecting “Search” on the bottom of the settings page and typing in the option name.

Display menu:

Turn off “NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency”- This option changes gfx card clock speed and other stuff to lower hardware latency. Some have done some testing with this option on and off and found it to be useless.

Quality menu:

Set “VRAM Scale Target” to 80 – This option limits the percentage of gfx memory the game can use. Apparently letting game use all of the memory makes it unstable and if you have more than 12Gb of gfx memory you can see by turning on telemetry for VRAM usage that it only goes up to 75%.

Set “Texture resolution” to normal – you will se no difference in how the game looks but helps with rendering and makes the game run more stable.

Set “Weather Grid Volumes Quality”  to off – explanation of this option is clear in options and I think the game pace is to fast to notice this or even care about it.

It is advisable to redo your shaders after any graphics changes. It can be done in “Display” menu under “Restart Shader Pre-Loading”. This requires a game restart to take effect.

I hope some of this helps. See you on the battlefield.
