OK  I'm not a BK member, I'd like to add my .02 worth. BK should allow running cover to cover..........now why? BK clamis realism, well we know when the bad guy/girls are around you DON'T CROUCH!....you run as fast as you can to the next cover...its called " RUSH".....you expose youself for a max of 5 seconds. I know we are just gaming BK uses the word realism not I. Crouch is Right to just move, make the smallest target you can, but when you know the bad guys are around (AND IN GAMES THEY ALWAYS ARE) you "RUSH" not CROUCH. Very Happy

man... tell me what's going to stop run'n'gunners from running all the time claiming to run from cover to cover? also it would not be easy for the admins to make judgments if it was running from cover to cover or just running. If you wanna run drop a nade under your legs  Wink

Hi Nam Ranger,

Thank you for playing on our BK servers as well as your friendly post.

I understand your point but our server rules are there to keep the gaming realistic. You are allowed by our rules to run only under direct fire or being naded. However, running constantly is neither allowed by our rules or realistic.

Believe it or not, before I became a BK member I use to run and gun, which does not require as much skill nor is it as challenging as the crouch requirement.

This is the nature of tactical servers. I been to other tactical severs that have disabled the run feature altogether. Now that's rough!

We appreciate your input as we attract a very diverse range of players to our tactical servers but our rules, polite and friendly atmosphere, and vigilant admins are why the BK servers remain popular.

Please understand that we are not trying to define realism through the rules of the game but rather it is our philosophy how the game on our servers should be played.

I am you you will figure out a way to be competitive without having to run to a position to get more kills. I have seem some BK members get 50+ kills a game all while being crouched and you can as well.

If they run to gun kick/ban them... Smile I'm just saying we can't crouch moving a cross open areas, BK says there are NO open areas.....I beg to differ....bad guys know we crouch to move a cross the open areas...they just wait for the slow target...I have watched players run a cross open areas with no problem...then I try at a crouch/snail pace and get nailed everytime. Then when I try to run across the open area I get the admin warning to crouch or be kicked.  The old saying comes to mind "D*** if you do D***  if you don't" Razz ....well BK  you have  GREAT SERVERS...with that said only that one draw back....other wise it would be a perfect servers. Very Happy

here i come...
we used to allow the wide open space run cover to cover thing but after so many people said that 5 yards was a wide open space (ok, slight exaggeration) we started to leave it out due to how people percieved this rule.....

if we allowed run cover to cover or over wide open areas (and we mean WIDE) then it would stir up all those problems again.

now, if in a warzone in all honesty (and I know people who have served queen and country) you wouldnt attempt even running cover to cover without any air support or other form of cover from your team so as I notice in game that most guys just play as a lone soldier, it would seem suicidal to go sprinting across a wide open space.....

anyhow im just a woman.....what would I know????? (maybe less lives would be lost in war if I told them what to do  Rolling Eyes )

Ladyhawk,

In a real war, planting Bettys would be against the Geneva Convention. LOL! You and I wouldn't be able to giggle after the other team had the misfortune of finding one!

Boom! Hehe! You found my Betty! Twisted Evil

NamRanger, you don't get singled out.  Perhaps the first person was missed or their name wasn't caught.  All players are treated the same.  Believe me when I saw that this type of discussion has gone on more than a couple of times both in these forums and in our TS.  If it were a perfect world and everyone would follow the rules and not try to twist them or just plain ignore them, I believe the running from cover to cover may be applied.  However, that isn't the case.  In order to keep the run and gun style from bleeding into the BK servers we cannot have the cover to cover.  So, the best that any of us can do is, learn to play the best we can while following the rules as they are stated.  It takes a while to grow accustomed to and develop the necessary skills needed to be successful while playing according to the rules.  I know that I'm still working on getting better, I came from a run and gun clan.  You stated in game today that if you made a point on the forums it would get ignored.  Well, it's not being ignored, so please, use this forum to make your suggestions and/or complaints.  Not the in-game chat.  Please believe me when I say that they are read, noted, and if need be, acted upon.  Look forward to seeing you in my sights.

Rules are not perfect, totally agree, but allowing running will make them less perfect - we've already seen that happen, so speaking from experience.

There's smoke in the game, or you can have 3 flares with a perk Smile I got 40+ kills with 25+ K/D ratio multiple times and never had a need to run across open areas - I just played smart. Usually I move a lot and camp little, so I cross wide areas all the time and still get 2 or 3 times more kills then deaths. Levels are designed so that there are multiple ways to get to the same place, and for few cases when cover isn't provided - use smoke. By the time you need 2nd smoke you're likely dead anyway hehe

Thank you for suggesting and nice seeing you on our servers, Nam! I'm looking forward to killing you again soon.

Topical and politely argued except for clown-boy! lol.  Smoke is the best way of crossing open ground or maybe standing and moving with pistol up and sighted for speed whilst still not breaking server rules. Or avoid those open areas altogether.
