Suggestion: Ban Nade Launchers

My community and I play in your servers.  We love the slow tactical way and how strict the rules are.  There is one problem however and we all agree.....grenade launchers.  If we can't run or walk unsighted, isn't it only fair to bad random toobs or even toobs altogether?

Lol......at a least a rule to ban the nades and toobs first 15 seconds of the map.  AND the random toob shots.....it gets old.

Well we do have an unwritten rule for BK members only to not use them for the first 15 seconds or something.  In my experience on our servers there are only a few people you really have to worry about killing you consistently with the tubes.  They are all BK members, and I am one of them. Smile

To be consistent with them they take a lot more skill than people think.

hi, I know im wading in here...(I always do )
I myself know how to use nade launchers effectively as do many of my fellow clan members and as we are all aware, there are many that abuse the perk of rifle nades as do those with deep impact that spam walls every chance they get.....

So to cut a HUGE story short, we allow all perks and weapons to allow all players to use their weapon of choice on our servers and although we all have one gripe or another, we all get along and I know as many others......A good knife in the back of a random rifle nader or wall spammer certainly does justice Wink

If we were voting, and I know we are not, I would rather see them go then stay. Nothing is more frustrating that having LadyHawk kill you 17 times in a single match with the darn things Smile

astrodad.....im honoured but you must learn to move cos when you shoot me from a position, you make it too easy for me to aim and fire my nade into that exact spot Wink

I actually never get frustrated with nade launchers because I don't get cheap killed with them too often. If someone kills me with one, I usually kill them before the nade reaches me.

Maybe we ought to see what 64 random or "skillfully placed" rockets going off every 10 seconds does to enhance the game.  Every other perk in this game has at least one defense against it.  There isn't enough concrete, or boulders thick enough in this game to protect you.  Leaving the game is the only option players have, and do use.

This has been discussed before. But it's always welcome to be reviewed once more. As Ladyhawk stated, we do allow all perks and weapons so this will not change to cut rocket grenades from the game. So that ends it, but there is always good chat in these threads so please continue to reply your thoughts on this subject.

My personal thoughts... Like Immolation, I do not get cheap killed by these very often so I really don't care as much as some people. The only issue I have is with the way certain people use these rocket grenades. My theory was once again proven when I got killed a few times by a rocket grenade recently in a game then looked to see how many deaths the user had. He had many more deaths than kills. My biggest issue with the use of rocket grenades is that it is not tactial or realism the way some users play with them. Some people live for their rocket grenades. When they use them both up, then they die as quickly as possible (some BK members have ever seen people kill themselves on purpose) so that they can obtain their rocket grenades again. This is unrealistic and not tactical. I think we should watch for this and warn those who do that. But there are some people like Smile and Ladyhawk who do not do this. They use their rocket grenades then play with their iron sights in a tactical manner, not just running out there to die. Those are my thoughts on it  Very Happy

Luke will have to correct me if I am wrong, but I think we are trying to get away from the word "tactical" in the description of our servers. We are not a tactical server, nor a tactical group, just polite and friendly trying to add some more realism to the game.

Personally I die a lot from Rocket Nades, there just does not seem to be a way to avoid it, but if I had my way I think that the betty would be designed differently. For example, right now when you die the Betty will stay until your re-spawn. Wouldn't it be great if the betty actually worked like a real life betty. You place it, it stays around until it goes off, but better yet, if you place it, and then die, the betty then becomes a live round for your team and theirs, meaning if you trip it, you die, even if it was your betty.

I am just spouting....it would never happen and would frustrate the living out of all the players.
