HAVE NOT TRIED THIS BUT I AM....
In response to those that have a lag when loading maps and trying to enter battle. I found a solution without turning off AVG that worked for me. First I updated my ATI graphics drivers and catalyst center, which helped with the maps load time. Open your AVG user interface. Go to Tools--Advanced settings. Under Resident Shield click on Directory Excludes. Click Add Path, and add your entire BF2BC folder as the path. After that my game worked fine. It also worked when I disabled my resident shield, but this way I don''t have to disable anything.

The start of every game dose have a 15 second hold. They do this to allow slower PCs to get in before the game starts. I'm not sure if that is what your talking about though.

It has to do with the new patch, i never had the problem before.
I understand the rationale ... but i have to wait more than 15 sec and sometimes it freezes on me.
I will try to do away with the AVG deal and see...
Also my game now opens in a Windows frame (i'm on XP) so my screen is all surrounded by blue and i have to hide my bottom start bar.
Hopefully that will disappear with the incoming Server patch.
I like the game but the frustrations , I can do without LOL:)
BTW i do enjoy your WAW server a lot
Keep up the good work Guys and Gals

OK this didn't work for me!

When I disabled the resident shield the lag went away, but that MAY! let a virus in your computer. So I reactived it. Luke we are talking about spawn time you must not have. Joning a game may take you that 10 seconds, however when you die and spawn when it says ready. It make take anywere from 10 seconds to 15 or more to rejoin. This happened with the last patch update.

Well I deatcived the resident shield and spawn was normal. I then actived the resident shield spawn was screwed up again. I took AVG off my computer and installed avsti my problem with spawn lag is solved.
BTW way AVG did a upgrade at the same time, they did the BC3 patch, I hear.
