i havent played for a couple weeks so i joined a game and right when i did it said malware detected by AVG and it got rid of it and did a restart of my comp but when i went back to play it said this...........i dont no if one has anything to do with the other or not......anyone seen this before

I had that once back in Battlefield... or something along those lines. Turns out my firewall was blocking PB from working hense the fail message, may not be a solution but just have a peek at your firewall and see whats happening.

Go to Evenbalance's website and download PBSVC and run it!

http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe

This will normally clear up most PB issues, including Service Communication Failure!!!     It has worked great for all my other games in the past that use Punkbuster!!

I agree with Kulamonster.

I recently bought the Vietnam expansion pack and was kicked by Punkbuster. Depending on the OS you are running punkbuster may or not update properly. I had to download and run the program with administrator privileges, and also update the client versions for BC2 and WAW.
