They have to be open for an optimal connection and to prevent issues such as this. Have your ISP or your routers manufacturer open the ports for you

i tryed the program with port checking and the port 3074 UDP is open. but when i try with the TCP port then its closed. what shall i do ? does the TCP have to be open or does it have any effectt with it being closed?

We will look into the issue. Please note that we cannot reset stats or alter them. To avoid this issue in the future , Make sure your ports are open:

Can you check your ports at http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm?

This game uses the following ports:

UDP: 3074

TCP: 3074

Additionally the Steam client transmits and receives network traffic on ports UDP: 27000-27015, 27015-27030 and TCP: 27014-27050.

If any of the ports are closed, you might need to forward your ports. if they are timed out, you'll need to contact your ISP.
A good resource to learn how to forward your ports is Portforward.com
You can have your Internet service Provider Forward your ports for you.

There was no disconnection other then the one earlier as i said where it said "disconnected - kicked". and after that message me stats where all wongas.

What is your Steam ID?

Did you have a disconnection last time you played?
Did you receive any error prompts? Please specify exactly what it said.
We cannot reset or modify anyone's rank. This can occur if a disconnection happens when its updating your stats. Please refrain from playing the game for 24 - 48 hours to see if it will revert back to your old profile. What we have in place is a snapshot system where over time, it takes a snapshot of your current profile. If there is ever any discrepancies with your online profile, it reverts back to the last snapshot.

What is your Steam ID?
To obtain this...

1.Start the multiplayer exe
2.Open the fullscreen console (shift-~)
3.Type: "steamid" (without the quotes) and press ENTER

my levels has returned. and i did as you told me. but im in bit of a pinch since i have played for 162 hours total. and now in my career challenges it tell me that I only have played for 1 hour total.

Hi, Ronni,

Unfortunately, the developers are aware of an issue in which temporary internet drops can cause stats to reset.

You can try the following steps, but they are not a guaranteed solution. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we appreciate your patience in the meantime!

1. In your Steam game library, Right-click on Call of Duty: Black Ops - Multiplayer and select properties.
2. Select the Updates tab.
3. Uncheck the Enable Steam Cloud Synchronization check box.

Next, please try deleting the single and multiplayer config files by going to your player folder (Default is C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty black ops\players) and deleting the config.cfg and config_mp.cfg files.

good day to you.

last night when i was playing my black ops with some friends i was lvl 24 and doing great.
i backed out of the game for 5 min to go do some buisness and when i came back i tryed to connect to a favorite server. and what hapened was i got a message "'Disconnected - Kicked".
Oh well i went into the server again. but this time i was starting as a level 1. now today i tryed again. and im in prestige 2 or 3 but still lower level then what i was when this happened to me.

can you please help me and tell me what to do to get my levels back.?

Sorry to hear your having issues. Unfortunately since all the stats data is stored by external servers, don't think there is much we can do to help except for ports issues.

If your running anti-virus/firewall software, make sure it is an exempted program so its not blocked. If you have a router, try making the internal IP address your computer uses (i.e. - 192.168.1.xxx) completely open by setting up the DMZ if your has that feature.

Other than that, not much else I can think of right now...

(and did anyone else read the tech support guys responses with an indian accent? I don't even know where there from, but I couldn't stop doing that)

I just had a similar problem.  I was prestige 2, level 50, ~150k COD points.  Played last night for a little while, then suddenly was level 1 again.

Rebooted, played for an hour, no change.  This morning I logged in an was level 46 with ~8000 COD points.  But I still have all of my custom slots and weapons.  Huh?
