Luke or Mr-T, you may be the best to answer this question, if either of you set up the TeamSpeak 3 server for BK.
I have a need to set up the server and client on my home network for a group that is outside this gaming community. I downloaded the Teamspeak server program and found an article on how to set it up.
I've followed all the
TeamSpeak Server Setup
I've opened up the ports stated in this article through my U-verse 2Wire Router but, only I can connect to it (within my home 192.xx.xx.xx) network.
I had Goober test it with me this morning and I gave him the IP address that I get from my ISP. He was unable to connect
Has anyone else attempted this setup before and if so, what am I missing?

You need to be out side your firewall for people to connect to it. U0verse is the worst with that. You can get really cheap TS servers from Gameservers.com Something like 15 slots for about $5.

I have set one up on my own computer and i have friends connect all the time, all i did was run the server program get the ticket to make my self admin then forwarded ports from my router to my computer and allowed the program to accept incoming and out going connections through my firwall, don't for get to let your friends know the port number, one more thing is if you right click the server icon in the system tray you can sometimes get you wan from there

Luke, I admin a website for our home brewing club. Obviously, that server has a static IP address. Could that address be used for the purposes of setting up Teamspeak?

I believe I followed all of the steps that you have outlined. I got the prompt to insert the admin token which I found and pasted it in. It was accepted. I then set up the TS server with the IP address my PC has behind the firewall. Then went into the settings for my 2Wire Router and I opened up the pinholes for UDP and TCP which are:
Voice port (default) UDP 9987
File Transfer port TCP 30033
Finally, I gave Goober (who was on our BK TS) the WAN IP and port number 9987 and he was unable to connect.
I'm not sure what else to do right now.

try opening port 9987 on tcp as well and does your router have a firewall as well if so you need to configure that as well

yep works but you may want to change some setting so people have privileges they expect
Thanks again, Karow.
Mr-T, what settings are you referring to; like a password to get in? or something else?

I have also set permissions up for my old clan, if you need help with that let me know. It can appear complicated but once you understand how it functions it's not that hard.
Thanks for the offer, but I believe I just took care of that. By right clicking on the server name in the TS3 client, you have the option to set a password, as long as you are the admin.
