Well I'm sure some of you will recognise the name "Black Mesa" but a couple may not and for those that don't you must stop reading this post and are not allowed to read it or play any FPS until you have discovered where it came from and then and only then play the game its from.

Leave now and discover.

For the rest of us that know the name. I recently thought I wonder if there remaking the original with the new engine. well i did a quick search and found this blackmesasource.com

when i first glanced it seemed as if it was dead in the water but after a little searching i found that the developers are still posting on their forums that it is still active, which for one and happy to hear.

I would love to see it include the two addon packs the gearbox made for it or atleast follow as i want to play it now.

i hope others appreciate this find as much as i did

Yea, this makes me curious... because most of the people who are working on "Black Mesa" are Valve employees messing around in their spare time.  And the recent announcement of HL-3d (NOT half life 2: episode3, don't get excited)  which is as they say "a 3d, modern rendition of halflife 1"  I'm wondering if these two projects might not be one and the same?

hmm...
