Well a selfless act by a brother in blue has happened near the town I live here. He responded to a domestic and was helping one of the partys flee and he was shot in the head. He in critical conditon at this point. He has a wonderful support from his community and the state helping out but prayers are always welcome. Its one of the first officers shootings in the area that anyone can remember. Here is the arcticle

I am sending my thoughts to the family and wish that he makes a full recovery. Think positive thoughts for this guy as I truly believe that it will aid him on his journey. There is nothing more destructive than one of life's helpers being taken down by some twisted halfwit. God bless this officer and good luck.

"Tonight the strong foundation of our city has been rocked like at no other time in it's history. The death of Officer Shawn Schneider. The citizens of this community are so shocked and saddened. He gave his life protecting an innocent victim as and our community. He was an absolute PROFESSIONAL on and off duty.
Never has my heart felt so heavy and saddened for Officer Schneiders family. The Lake City Police Department is a very close group of professional officers and I know with absolute certainty that Chief Majchrzak, Chief Lyle Schumann (Retired), and the Officers are very saddened and hurt by the loss of their BROTHER (Badge 208).
Officer Schneider, all the calls for service have been completed. Your shift is now done. You gave your life to save a life. Do not be embarrased to wear the additional title of HERO. That is what you are, a true HERO. So Officer Schneider please move forward in a new direction -
WABASHA DISPATCH 208. 208 GO AHEAD. 208 WILL BE 10-7."
Chief Robert Schmidt (Ret.)
