My mother was hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing 16 days ago. Mum had to have surgery on her eye, the eye socket was damaged. Doctors could not believe that she did not break any bones. Mum is 84yrs old and only 4ft 9in tall, Mum is doing fine after surgery and apart from a lot of bruising to her body is up and about now getting ready for Christmas. My wife and I have been looking after mum while she gets better, So just wanted to let everyone know why I have been abscent (what no-one noticed-lol). See everyone soon.

Ouch, geez. But no broken bones is a pretty lucky... break? Was the driver at least human enough to stop?
I don't celebrate anything, but happy holidays back to ya.

Scatters! That is unbelievable that she escaped without serious injury...not that a damaged eye socket is not serious, but very grateful that she will only be a little sore, but able to be with you during the holiday season...take care of your family...we will always be here!

HI Scatters
So sorry to hear that your Mum was hurt. I hope that she gets back on her feet quickly.
She sounds like a tough old girl.
I hope that the police throw the book at the turnip that hit her. I don't know how many times I've seen young people texting from behind the wheel of a mobile car. As a motorcylcist, it sends a shiver down my spine.
All the best to you and your family over Christmas and the New Year.
