I just installed Adobe Photoshop Extended CS4 with a ton of extras, a friend had it but no longer wanted it. so now I have it. I am tinkering around with it, and I am fascinated by some of the sigs you guys are turning out, us there any way I can use this program to make them, or am I under gunned? I just want something to mess with, to chase off boredom. maybe this will be a creative outlet for me. Thanks in advance for any advice you guys may offer me.

Photoshop is better than what I'm using. I currently use gimp, which is basically the free version of photoshop.

Photoshop is the industry standard for image manipulations but for web work I would also recommend using Fireworks in conjunction.

Please keep in mind there is a steep learning curve to both programs; therefore, just keep working at it.

PhotoShop is based on photography theory. If you keep that in mind it will help guide you when you are feeling overwhelmed.

I am a fairly quick learner, I do not expect it to be easy, I am stubborn. I will get fireworks, and try that as well. thanks guys

I've been using Photoshop since 1996, and I still figured out something new (to me) about it about a week ago.  That's the cool thing about PS...about once a month I have a Wah La! moment where I realize a new technique Smile

Same here, I have had it for several years and every time I use it I am amazed with what it can do. There are numerous online tutorials for PS and I would suggest doing a Google search for them, they will be a lot of help in getting the hang of it.
