So, I know that there is a post for this somewhere, but it got buried rather quickly, and after half an hour of looking... frankly i couldn't wait anymore to share the awesome!
Dead Space 2: I know that I only have 4 more days to wait for this (yay!) but I figured it deserved mention anyways. I loved Dead Space 1, and I really dont know why, because on the face of it, it wasnt a really good game... the pacing was terrible, the story was quite ...special-needs at times, the combat/controls were a bit awkward, and the enemies were a pushover. Despite all this, i still got completely hooked on this game, and was soooo disappointed when it was only 8 hours long. I just hope that DS2 brings back that wonderful-ness, wherever it comes from...
Brink: I have been following this game since the first teaser came out in the middle of last year, and the more i hear, the more excited i get. It is a huge multiplayer shooter that also advances your personal storyline at the same time, its a bright and vibrant shooter world, not a brown dreary place that FPS has become lately. Basically, if someone sat me down and told be to describe my own perfect game, I'd probably describe something like Brink. heres a link to brink's official site
