I just wanted to share this with you guys because I always have fun playing on your servers, and recently came to appreciate how you work even more.
Some of you have seen me, even have me on your steam friends lists and such, I used to play here a lot, but classic story, a girl got in the way and reduced my PC time. Pfffft. Women!
Anyway, I returned to gaming more because she didn't(return I mean.)
Anywho, I was playing here, but I'm east coast, and I don't ping well on Chicago and it's usually the only one I can get on during the times I play, so I found this other *similar* server on the east coast with a different clan (I wont mention them and plug/badmouth them here.) I was playing there a lot.
One day this week, I was playing, and my FIRST kill was a TK. it happens. in the amount of time it took me to apologize, I was kick/temp banned. I was on for a total of about 45 seconds, spawned, TK'd (no tag watched the replay to be sure) died instantly because I stopped to type an apology and was kicked about 2 seconds after I respawned.
THE POINT of my post is that it brought me a greater insight and appreciation to how patient you are with rule breakers and how careful you are to give them warnings. I will admit there have been times where I have questioned (never verbally) "Why don't they kick that guy already?!?" Well, now I guess I know, mistakes happen and you give the benefit of the doubt.
That other clan knew me and I had some on my friends list, I never "push" the rules here, or there. A few even apologized to me. The difference is that NEVER would have happened here. I tried playing on that server again and I did terrible because I was gun shy and kept dying because I was afraid of getting kicked for TK and wasn't getting shots off quick enough.
Anyway, Thanks guys/gals for providing a cool place to play. You have absolutely extended the life of this game for me by giving me a play to play that is fun and clean. I wanted to share this story with you hoping it made you feel better about the service you provide. Also to share that I CLEARLY understand why you give people the second and third chance. Thanks for that. I always enjoy my time on your servers (except for when some of you dominate the holy heck out of me)
Thanks !
